Gmail Script: Disable “Sponsored Link” Ads

The script in action

So I got really, really sick of seeing totally irrelevant (and sometimes offensive) adverts in my Gmail’s Web Clip bar (along the top of my inbox). So I built a script to disable that crap.

My script simply simulates a user click of the “next clip” button whenever it detects a sponsored link (and optionally a gmail tip). Source is available here.

It also disables the sidebar in your emails (which sometimes include ads), giving you more screen space.

It works fine in Safari with GreaseKit, Firefox with Greasemonkey and Google Chrome

Go here to install: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/52619

ENJOY!
